The game continues similar game play to the 1990 MSX2  game Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake with the same top down view and the Metal Gear story you’d expect from the franchise.

Please Nintendo, don’t tease us with a SNES Classic Edition! A recent post today on Eurogamer indicates that their sources have leaked information on the SNES Classic Edition. These are the same sources that leaked information about the Nintendo Switch. So its likely to be true.
