Gaming Anniversaries July 3- Zombie Hunter

Zombie Hunter

Released July 3, 1987- Zombie Hunter

Zombie Hunter appeared on this day in 1987. For the Nintendo Famicom.

Zombie HunterZombie Hunter is a Japan exclusive Famicom game, starring characters from a not so popular Manga of the same name. The game has some heavy-RPG elements and plays a lot like Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Activision had intended to release it in the West, yet canceled it after much of the work had been done.

Players challenge six side-scrolling levels. Each one containing a new pathway to take. The player must challenge a number of fights until all enemies have been defeated. Several chests will also appear, which will add items to increase your stats. Collecting them is the key to defeating the game.

Zombie Hunter is a very interesting game. It was developed by a company that is virtually unknown. Hi-Score Media NWork, whom only produced two games. This one and Faria. This game ion particular did not do so well, despite it being a very competent game in the Famicom library. It’s likely the source material of an unpopular manga that killed it. Personally, I would have liked to see a North American release, however, if you’re interested, you can download a translation patch for the ROM right here.
