Gaming Anniversaries October 20- Virtua Fighter
Released October 20, 1995- Virtua Fighter
Virtua Fighter kicked into the Japanese market on this day in 1995. For the Sega 32X!
The game features fully 3D rendered environments and characters that made games back then look on in amazement.
Virtua Fighter also features a number of excellent characters, each with their own unique fighting styles and combo moves. The game also featured some ridiculous storylines and over the top animations to go with its gameplay mechanics.
Unfortunately, Virtua Fighter on the 32X wasn’t all that its cracked up to be. It suffered from some slowdown due to the limitations of the hardware. That didn’t stop it from becoming one of the most beloved fighting franchises on the market, that extended well beyond its very first release way back then. The game can now be found on systems as far ahead as the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, with each new release adding a little bit more to the game and improving its play mechanics.
