Rick And Morty: The Anime

Coming at some point to Adult Swim and HBO Max, Rick and Morty: The Anime

Rick and Morty has been a fairly long-running American cartoon that’s been fraught with controversy and delays. Now the studio behind it has handed a series order to Takashi Sano to produce Rick and Morty: The Anime as a stand-alone 10-episode story following the hilarious and sometimes thought-provoking cartoon duo.

It’s currently unclear when the new Rick and Morty anime series will premiere. However, Takashi Sano is very well known for his work on Tower of God and the Lupin III series. He was approached by Adult Swim after a series of shorts he produced featuring the series. Here’s one called “Summer Meets God/ Rick Meets Evil” which aired in August 2021.

We’re excited to see the franchise continue. No matter who is at the helm. Of course, we still can’t wait for season 6. This will be shown off soon according to Adult Swim during their annual “block party” The Adult Swim block party is an in-person event that will take place August 5-7 in  Philadelphia, PA. However, they have also confirmed that some content from the weekend’s event will be broadcast via the official youtube channel as well as their own website.

All that said, the new anime looks like it might be one of the coolest things to happen to the series since its inception, and with such a strong writer and artist team to do it, we cant wait.
