Gaming Anniversaries January 9, Mario Party 2

Mario Party 2

Released January 9, 2000- Mario Party 2

Mario Party 2 jumped into the North American market on this day in 2000. For the Nintendo 64!

Mario Party 2, the sequel to the amazing Mario party brings much of the same gameplay. However, it now includes 5 new boards, new minigames and some new characters to boot!

The concept of the Mario Party games is quite simple, but definitely still one of the best party games to grace any console system. In Mario Party 2, you along with up to 4 friends will choose a character to play, and roll dice and compete against or with each other in super fun minigames. Some of you may remember that the first Mario party game even required the use of gloves, so you don’t destroy the skin on your palms. Mario party 2 eliminates those games and it makes for a much less painful more fun experience overall.

The end goal in the Mario party games is typically to have more stars and or coins than the other players. However, once you finish the story mode and play all of the minigames (there are 64 of them), players can then purchase the minigames to practice and play with friends later!

Mario Party 2 is probably my favorite of the series overall, call me crazy. Which one is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
