On this day on May 25’th of 1987, Section-Z was released for the Famicom Disk System in Japan.

Section-ZSection-Z is a port of the original 1985 game from the arcades. Developed by Capcom, the game is a side-scrolling shoot’em’up game. the game takes place during some time in the year 30xx. An alien space station is approaching Earth. Your role is to play as Captain Commando (Capcom’s unofficial mascot of the time), destroy the space station and save the planet. The arcade version featured 26 levels each named after the corresponding letter in the Alphabet or A-Z. With the titular ending being “Section-Z”. The Famicom Disk System version changed up this formula to give players 60 full fledged, each of them numbered.

Additionally, the Famicom version featured transporter pods to transfer the player to another level. Additionally, the Famicom version differed from the US because it included a three-slot save system. By contrast, the US version required you to complete the game in one sitting.
