Gaming Anniversaries December 8- Duke Nukem 3D
Released December 8, 1997- Duke Nukem 3D
Duke Nukem 3D shot into the North American market on this day in 97′. For the Sony PlayStation!
Duke Nukem 3D takes the original Duke Nukem series of side-scrolling shooters and turn it into something spectacular on the PlayStation. Introducing a first person perspective for more realistic, over the top gameplay players expect from Duke Nukem.
Alongside Duke’s regular arsenal of weapons, 3D includes pistols, pipe bombs and even chain guns and laser trip mines. Additionally, you can really bring the pain with a handful of different rocket launchers, always ready to completely annihilate your enemies. Throughout the game, players will be greeted with an extremely high level of detail and interactivity. From the ability to Arcade machines, destroy vending machines and even hand singles to strippers for the obvious reasons. Furthermore, Duke will often present his own commentary and one-liners throughout the game.
As if that wasn’t enough, Duke Nukem 3D even includes a network multiplayer mode. Pretty impressive for 1997.
