The Simpsons Hit and Run

Released September 16, 2003- The Simpsons Hit and Run

The Simpsons Hit and Run slammed into North America on this date in 2003. For the PlayStation 2, Gamecube and the Xbox.

The Simpsons Hit and RunThe Simpsons Hit and Run is a hilarious game for multiple consoles. Developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Vivendi and Fox Entertainment.

The game has the player playing as one of the characters from The Simpsons cartoon. Players will use either Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa or Apu to wreak havoc on Springfield. Well, actually, you aren’t supposed to do that. Really, the idea is to uncover the mystery behind the mechanical bees that are taking over, and figure out where the cola came from that is enslaving the minds of those who drink it. The havoc and destruction come naturally through the open world driving mechanics.

The Simpsons Hit and Run is considered a version of Grand Theft Auto set in the town of Springfield. And the similarities are uncanny. Right down to the mission structure and mechanics of the game. Players will ultimately feel as though they just popped in their copy of Grand Theft Auto Vice City. This certainly isn’t a bad thing. The game is fun and is sure to be enthralling. Especially to fans of The Simpsons cartoon.

The game managed to sell fairly well and received fairly good reviews overall. Selling over 1 million copies across all three platforms. Hit and Run is still considered to be one of the best Simpsons related games to date.
