Sega Forever Incoming, launches tommorow
Sega’s Netflix Style App Launches Tomorrow calledĀ Sega Forever
A couple of weeks ago, we wrote about several game companies that are producing Netflix-style services for their classic games. One of those was Sega. with their new mobile-only app. Sega Forever
In a press release today, Sega tells us that the app, which is exclusive to mobile phones will be dropping tomorrow. Making “Time Travel” cost effective. So to speak.
The app will be free to start, however, a cheap fee of $1.99 will stop the ads from appearing. The app will include 5 games of the first set including
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Phantasy Star II
- Comix Zone
- Kid Chameleon
- Altered Beast.
The Sega Forever app is planned to enjoy an enormous catalog of classic games. From the SG-1000 to the Dreamcast. It appearsĀ that it will start with ad-support. Only time will tell if the app will become a fully functional library of Sega Classics.
Sadly, the service will be Mobile only at this time, however, it’s important to note that Sega Forever is compatible with Bluetooth controllers. Could be a great time to break out that iCade that’s been collecting dust!
