RuneScape is Headed to tablets and mobile platforms.

RuneScape

We just can’t believe RuneScape is still a thing!

Both “Old School Runescape” and “Runescape” will feature interoperability between each other.

RuneScapeRunescape will soon be launching on Mobile platforms. Featuring the same game you might know on the PC. Players can continue to use their character they may have spent years and year playing. What’s more, the two games will play well with each other. The Mobile version is said to be an extension of the original game on the new platforms.

Runescape first came to the MMORPG world in January of 2001. Quickly becoming one of the quickest growing MMORPG games available. Likely due to it being free to play. Now in 2017, the game I have to admit I haven’t heard tell of for quite a few years, will launch on Mobile platforms.

Players will be able to pick the game up on their phone or tablet, and when they get home, can then turn on their PC to enjoy the game just where they left off.

Phil Mansell, the Chief Operating Officer of the game’s developer Jagex had this to say.

“This is a real step change for MMORPGs and a signal of Jagex’s intent to continue to push the boundaries of live games. The RuneScape titles will become the first mainstream and established Western MMORPGs on mobile in full and the first to deliver interoperable play between PC and mobile platforms. We believe in taking our games to wherever our players want them; recent player surveys showed an overwhelming 90% of active players and 64% of former players telling us of their very high intent-to-play on mobile. Our innovative approach to mobile is also evidence of our ambitions in the mobile sector, and a further indication of our investment in extending the RuneScape franchise to additional devices and territories.”

We ask you, how long has it been since you last checked in on your character in Runescape? We wager it’s been quite a while. Will you be checking out the game on Mobile?
