Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Released October 11, 2004- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door arrived in the North American market on this day in 2004. For the Nintendo Gamecube.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year DoorPaper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is the next iteration in the fantastic Paper Mario series!

Players will play as Mario, in paper form of course and uncover the mysteries that lie behind the “Thousand Year Door”. The mystical door that comes from the remains of a buried city.

One day, Princess Peach mails Mario a map and a letter. Telling him that he must come quick. Mario rushes off to a place known as Rogueport to meet a Goomba names Goombella. Or is Goombella just the female name given for Goombas? Either way, he meets her, she takes him to the archaeologist and he finds the door, along with he locations of the star that open said door. And thus, our quest begins.

Mario can run, jump and even hammer things. All in a cute paper format. Additionally, he can meet more characteristics to aide him in his quest to find the stars and unlock the mystery of the door.

The battles in the game are a little peculiar, but definitely on the fun side. Battles play out as if Mario is in a performance. If the audience doesn’t like it, they will throw things at him. At which point, our hero can even attack the audience. Definitely weird huh?

All in all, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is definitely worth your time to at least try it. Chances are if you’re reading this blog, you’re already into it.
