Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle hits the Switch Today!

It’s been a long wait. But Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle finally releases today!

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom BattlePlayers who’ve been foaming at the mouth for another new Mario game can finally settle down for a little bit. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle hits the Nintendo Switch today.

Developed by Ubisoft, the game merges both the fantastical world of Mario, with the hilarious world of the Rabbids. However, this time, the Kingdom has been torn apart by a vortex. Transporting the Rabbids into the Mushroom Kingdom! In an effort to restore peace and order, the Mario Characters will team up with the Rabbids to battle through four whole new worlds that have some completely unexpected puzzles and characters!

The game has an interesting combat system. It utilizes Turn-Based combat instead of the usual Mario style gameplay. Something completely new for a Mario game outside of the Paper Mario series. Of course, having been developed by a company other than Nintendo, it’s kind of different all the same, isn’t it? Moreover, on the Switch, you can take it anywhere!

The game is sure to be a riot. Players might notice that this one will play more like a tactical RPG. This is because it kind of is! However, according to some outlets, the game is extremely forgiving. arstechnica even likened it to “Baby’s First XCOM”. Whether you’re into tactical RPG’s or not, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is sure to be a whole lot of fun!

As an aside, another game comes out today. XCOM 2: War of the Chosen! funny stuff…
