Gaming Anniversaries March 23- Kirby’s Adventure

Kirby's Adventure

Released March 23, 1993- Kirby’s Adventure

Kirby’s Adventure blew into the Japanese market on this day in 1993. For the Nintendo Famicom!

Kirby's AdventureKirby’s Adventure was a late-life game on the NES. Still, it was one of the brightest and best and pushed the little 8-bit system to its limits.

In the game, players take on the role of a little pink blob named Kirby. He’s just awoken from an after-lunch nap (the best kind of nap) and realized that he didn’t have any dreams! It turned out that the twisted King Dedede had stolen the Star Rod, which supplies energy top the fountain of dreams. Meaning that no one could have any more dreams! What a nightmare!

It’s up to Kirby to take out all of his minions and finally stop King Dedede once and for all! To that end, he can use his amazing ability to suck in air and spit it back at enemies, float, or even suck int he enemies and swallow them to absorb new magical powers! There is no end to the imagination in this game.

Kirby is a very long running franchise, still being produced today Although generally speaking, they are considered kids games, this one still holds a bit of a challenge for even advanced players!
