Released on May 2, 1990, in Japan- Gargoyles Quest
Also known as “Red Arremer: Demon World Village Side-Story” in Japan. This Gargoyles Quest features the Character “Firebrand”, also known as Red Arremer through his story in the Demon World. Presumably a prequel type game to Ghosts and Goblins on the NES.
Playing as Firebrand, you must build your powers in order to save the Ghoul Realm from the “Destroyers”. Defeat multiple levels and enemies to improve your skills.
The game features two types of gameplay. Action Platforming and an RPG like overworld map to travel to different towns. This mix of gameplay helped to keep gamers engaged. Additionally, the game features a brilliant soundtrack, that’s still enjoyed today. Which of course, helped in sales of Gargoyles Quest and led to a sequel by the same name.
