Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shogun MagginesuThe Legend of The Mystical Ninja 2, or Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shogun Magginesu was a Japanese only sequel to the amazing “Legend of The Mystical Ninja” that seen limited success in the North American market. However, fans of the game will tell you that it was great. It’s a real shame it didn’t get released stateside. myself included in that.

In the sequel, players will take control of Goemon. The gameplay is much the same as the original. The first player will control Goemon, the second player will control his friend Ebisu Maru, however, there is a third character known as Robot Sasuke that joins the fray. They travel between villages taking out numerous enemies trying to take you down, as well as villages and platformer areas. There are also plenty of hidden mini-games in this one. So its sure to keep anyone entertained. All with one goal in mind. Stop Japan from becoming Westernized by the eveil General and his Bunny Army (!?)

Unfortunately, in order to play and to really appreciate all the game has to offer, you need to know Japanese. Although there are some sites that will offer a translated version in ROM form if you’re into that.
